24. 教年輕人的經歷

I’m going to talk about the time I taught my cousin how to bake a birthday cake156. The thing is157, her mother, I mean my aunt, was about to celebrate her birthday. And my adorable cousin thought no gift was more genuine than158 a gift she made herself. So she decided to bake a delicious cake for her mom. Since she knew I often bake cakes at home, she came to me159 so she could learn how to make a cake.

Anyway, I don’t have a knack for teaching, so I decided to take matters into my own hands160 by making a cake myself. I went to her home with lots of ingredients like cake flour and butter. I showed her the procedures step by step while explaining what I was doing. My cousin is as smart as a whip161. She took a video of the whole process so she could imitate what I did.

Afterwards, on her mom’s birthday, my cousin successfully baked a cake all by herself. And she even sent me a picture of it on WeChat. It turned out162 pretty well even though it was the first time she had baked a cake.

As for how I felt about it, well, I was fulfilled163 that I could teach something I know to others. By the way, I feel sometimes it’s easier to teach others a life skill by actual practice164 rather than plain talk165.
